Medical buildings throughout the Bengal and Odisha regions of India provide outpatient medical treatment at no cost. New buildings continue to be added and medical services are expanding to provide the highest care to the local population. In addition to general medicine, some of the medical centers are able to provide specialty services such as Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Urology, Radiology, Gynecology, Geriatrics, Pediatrics and Cardiology. Additional services provided are access to a physiotherapy clinic, minor surgery, ECG, pathology, microbiology, immunization, vaccination, x-ray, ultrasonography and more.
Large air-conditioned vans that can accommodate five doctors travel up to 250 – 300 km per day to reach the remote rural areas in the Odisha area of India. They are able to provide medical and dental care in small villages and also visit hundreds of schools to provide routine checkups and vaccinations for the underprivileged students. The MMDUs have the facilities to handle all dental needs as well as ambulatory care as needed.
