Painting Competition for All Ages

Event: HIH online painting competition 

Taking entries from July 1st to August 26th

Theme: Compassion 

Prizes each for the following 4 Categories 

  • Elementary- Age 5-8 yrs
  • Middle – Age 9-13 yrs
  • High – Age 14- 18 yrs
  • All – 18+

Instructions to submit the artwork:


Any medium: On a 8″ x 11″ (or larger) piece of watercolor paper or Mixed media paper, create a new, original painting that combines these basic techniques. The content on the theme of Compassion should reflect your unique artistic voice and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the medium used. 

After registration, we will share the folder link to upload the files specifically for you. You may also send your pictures to handinhandusa.boston@gmail.com if you like.

Submit 3 pictures: Take at least two in-progress images as you work and one photo of your finished painting. 

Put your name: Provide your name (Firstname_Lastname_1/ 2/ 3) when you submit your artwork along with a short description of your painting.

Winners will be intimated via email, and results will be posted on the website. Prizes will also be disbursed via email.

Know The Judges

Nidhi Mehta, a certified visual art teacher in Massachusetts, has been inspiring students with her passion for art since 2017. She has taught art and art history across Brockton, Mansfield, and Foxboro  schools and currently brings her dynamic approach to Fall River High School,where she teaches 2D and 3D Art courses and early college preparation. 

 

Nidhi believes in the powerful impact of art on personal and community development, embracing the philosophy that form doesn’t necessarily need function. Her inclusive and engaging workshops ignite a passion for art in participants of all ages, encouraging them to explore their creative potential through various mediums.

Ashna Mali is a multidisciplinary artist who is currently studying at New York University’s Interactive Media Arts program. She has a background in studio art and is currently exploring art through coding, music and animation. She has displayed her work in local exhibitions in her hometown in Massachusetts and in New York City. You can find examples of her work through her website.

FAQ

Can I submit multiple entries?

At this point, only 1 entry per registration per individual is allowed. Before the deadline of August 26th, you’re free to change/ update your submitted artwork multiple times in the given folder, however, only 1 entry will be considered per registered participant.

How will I get notified of the results?

The winning paintings in each category will be listed in the website and winners will be reached out via the registered email along with the prize amount by 2nd of September.

Is this competition open to all

We will be taking in entries from participants residing in the USA only in the listed specific age categories.

How will the money be used

All donations and registration fees will be directed to Hand in Hand, a USA based 501(c)(3) volunteer-run organization with the goal to provide education to the under-priviledged kids.
